There’s something magical about an empty space with exposed or whitewashed brick walls, bare floors and pale natural light streaming in through the windows. It’s become the de facto backdrop for fashion, food and product shoots, as well as special events ranging from wedding showers and receptions to brand launches and luncheons. While most people assume these sorts of places are fabricated like a stage set or can only be found in historic buildings in places like New York and LA, the truth is, plenty of these place-based canvases can be found in the heart of the Lone Star State. All of these spaces are ideal for bringing in gorgeous furnishings and making your mark, whether by sticking with the minimalist vibe that’s already there or warming it up with luxe textures, colors and patterns reflecting the exact aesthetic you want to convey. Scroll down for a roster full of the best blank slate venues in Austin and the surrounding area.
