There’s something about a retro 1940’s wedding that we just love. Maybe it’s the unique style it carries or that it takes us back to a simpler time, either way it’s truly unforgettable! This past March, Kennedy had the pleasure of contributing rentals to wedding photo shoot inspired around this timeless era.
Let’s Go Back in Time
This collaboration began when Amber Crausby, our brilliant Kennedy Collection Rental Manager, attended The Swoon Event. This event is a boutique wedding show here in Austin and provides brides-to-be with vendor information and much more for their special day. When Amber came across this event, she thought it would be a perfect opportunity to sponsor a lounge area showcasing the Kennedy Collection, while also providing guests a place to relax and kick-back at Swoon.
Following The Swoon Event, Kennedy linked up with Beau Tied Events and this is where the magic began. Beau Tied planned a creative photo shoot and rentals from the Kennedy Collection were utilized in order to bring back a decade that was filled with art and expression! This vintage wedding shoot took place at Weather Up, a local speakeasy bar in Austin,Texas located on Cesar Chavez. Amber recalls that it wasn’t “a typical space, but that’s the point!” Weather Up was adaptable, making it easy to transform and personalize for any kind of photo shoot, even one taking us back in time!
There was a great deal of thought that went into choosing pieces from the Kennedy Collection for the shoot. Beau Tied provided Kennedy with their inspiration boards and themes in order to bring their vision to life. They also had the opportunity to tour the Kennedy Collection showroom alongside Amber Crausby and Marisa Negri to get creative inspiration! After all of this brainstorming and communication, unique pieces were chosen that could be incorporated into the styled photo shoot.
Ideas Become an Art Deco Reality
The best part about the Kennedy Collection? It’s versatile and neutral, making it fit for any style or type of event! For this shoot the Kennedy Collection provided wood panel walls, driftwood, and a lounge grouping. The wood panel walls were topped with gorgeous florals provided by Rosehip Flora, creating an elegant yet woodsy vibe that truly stole the show. The lounge was filled with shades of deep purple that added a romantic, sultry touch to the shoot. Not to brag or anything but… our rentals looked breathtaking. The photos taken by Bonnie and Lauren speak for themselves!
When asked if it was difficult to contribute to this themed shoot, Amber happily adds that “it felt effortless, it was nice to see the final product and the collection used in such a noteworthy way.” Recently, this 1940’s-inspired wedding photo shoot was featured in Inspired By This, so we have to share the link below! Their blog highlights key details about the shoot and notes that the Kennedy Collection provided rentals.
