Keeping The Office Sane And Functioning
Heather Neimeyer (or as we like to call her: Niems) is like the Mother Hen of Kennedy. Our office would not be able to function without her! As COO, Heather makes sure that the company is running as smoothly as possible on a day-to-day basis. She serves as a go-to for employees from a legal and review perspective. She works alongside our Controller, Sam Rhodes, to oversee the accounting piece of Kennedy and our CEO, Natalie Kennedy, on executing policies, procedures and high-level decisions for the company.
She’s loyally been with Kennedy for almost 11 years! Heather started out in office management and worked her way through just about every role in the company as Kennedy grew. She is walking proof that great things come to those who work hard!
A Humbled Professional
Not only is Heather one of the sole reasons for keeping our office sane, but she’s also a DMCP (Destination Management Certified Professional). That is the fancy title means that Heather demonstrates the highest level of knowledge and commitment to the destination management profession. (We can vouch for this, she’s seriously the best!) Heather considers becoming a DMCP as the icing on the cake for her career. She’s produced events for many years and to certify herself as an expert is something that she would have never done if it weren’t for Natalie giving her a little push.
Being a DMCP is a designation that Heather can always take with her. She loves being able to share her knowledge with the Kennedy team by helping out in any way she can when challenged by clients, events or situations. She had to do a lot of research, reading and studying to receive this title and she holds a knowledge base that she can use to coach our talented employees. This is very beneficial to us at Kennedy, but even more-so for our clients!
All Good Memories
Even though Heather has been in the event industry for quite some time, she doesn’t look back at any singular moment as her greatest accomplishment thus far. “What I look back on in 11 years of working for this company and in this industry are all of the positive experiences from the multitude of clients I have worked with. There’s not a specific bad experience that haunts me because I have made a lot of great relationships and built so many memories to look back on.” Heather views working at Kennedy as a very rewarding experience- not only because of the career aspect, but because of all of the friends she has made along the way! Her favorite part about Kennedy is the strong group that it employs.
On the off chance that Heather is not kickin’ you-know-what at her job, she’s spending time with her two girls and her husband. They love the outdoors and playing together at the park, watching some Cowboys football and trying out new restaurants in Austin. Heather is a BIG foodie. She enjoys taking her kids to Contigo and Via 313, but her and her husband love Perla’s and Uchiko’s when it’s date night!
